The Treatment

What dermalux led therapy actually is: and who it's for.

What it is

LED phototherapy delivers specific wavelengths of visible and near-infrared light into the skin, triggering a cascade of biological responses, including collagen production, reduction of inflammation and destruction of acne-causing bacteria. The Dermalux Tri-Wave MD is the flagship medical-grade device from the Dermalux range.

Who it's for

Anyone with acne, rosacea, redness, sensitised skin, post-procedure inflammation, pigmentation or ageing concerns. It's also a powerful add-on after needling, injectables, laser or a strong facial: accelerating recovery and comfort.

When it's right

Standalone LED courses of 6–12 sessions delivered twice weekly initially, then weekly, then monthly maintenance. Add-on LED after other treatments is available any time.

Why professional matters

Not all LED is equal. Beauty-counter masks and cheap panels emit fractions of the irradiance of a clinical Tri-Wave MD, and typically only one wavelength. The Tri-Wave MD delivers blue, red and near-infrared simultaneously at clinical dose, the reason its effects on acne, healing and collagen are documented in the aesthetic literature.

Real Client Result

See the change: drag the slider.

A course of ten Dermalux Tri-Wave MD sessions using our combined Blue, Red and Near-Infrared protocol. The same client, same lighting, same angle, drag the handle to reveal the difference in redness, tone and inflammation.

This is the kind of result the Tri-Wave MD is engineered for: calmer skin, reduced visible flushing and a more even complexion, achieved without heat, needles or downtime.

Inside The Treatment

A closer look at Dermalux Tri-Wave MD.

See exactly how medical-grade LED phototherapy works, the clinical LED technology we use in our Banstead clinic, and the clinical results our Surrey clients rely on for acne, ageing and skin healing.

How It Works

The science behind Dermalux LED phototherapy.

Dermalux Tri-Wave MD delivers three specific wavelengths of pure, therapeutic light directly into your skin: blue (415nm), red (633nm) and near-infrared (830nm). Each wavelength is absorbed by specific cells and triggers a natural biological response, boosting collagen, calming inflammation and killing acne-causing bacteria without heat, injection or downtime.

In this short film from Dermalux, you can see exactly how the light energises your skin at a cellular level. It is the same mode of action we harness in every LED session at our Banstead clinic, layered onto facials or booked as a standalone glow treatment.

The Technology

Dermalux Tri-Wave MD in our Banstead clinic.

We invested in the Dermalux Tri-Wave MD, a clinical LED phototherapy system with an approximate RRP of £21,000, so our clients get a genuine therapeutic dose of light rather than a token one.

That matters because dosage is what drives results. Home LED masks and small salon panels simply cannot deliver enough light energy to trigger a meaningful cellular response. Our canopy fully surrounds the face and décolleté for even exposure in every session.

  • Clinical LED system, approximate RRP £21,000
  • Blue, red and near-infrared light delivered together
  • Painless, no heat, no downtime, no needles
  • Suitable for a wide range of skin types and sensitivities, confirmed at consultation

Clinical Results

Light on skin. Tough on acne, ageing and redness.

Dermalux is one of the few aesthetic treatments with a genuine peer-reviewed evidence base across acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, sun damage, pigmentation, fine lines and wound healing. It is used in NHS dermatology settings alongside private clinics for a reason: it works, and it is safe for skin that cannot tolerate more aggressive treatments.

For our Banstead and Surrey clients this means a single, gentle protocol that answers several skin concerns at once, whether you are managing adult acne, calming post-treatment redness, preparing for an event or committing to long-term collagen stimulation.

  • Kills acne-causing P. acnes bacteria
  • Stimulates collagen and elastin production
  • Calms redness, rosacea and inflammation
  • Accelerates healing after peels, microneedling and injectables

The Cost of Leaving It

What happens when it's left, or done badly.

!

Acne left untreated leaves scarring that requires years of needling or laser to soften, much of which could have been prevented with a proper LED and skincare protocol.

!

Chronic redness and rosacea don't 'grow out'. Without an anti-inflammatory protocol they worsen over the decades, becoming visibly telangiectatic and reactive.

!

Home LED masks feel like something is happening, but the irradiance is a small fraction of a clinical device. Six months of use produces the visible change of one or two clinical sessions.

!

Post-procedure inflammation and downtime is not just uncomfortable, it delays your results and increases the risk of pigmentation. LED is one of the most under-used recovery tools in aesthetics.

The Precious Moments Method

How we deliver dermalux led therapy, step by step.

  1. Step 1

    Consultation

A short skin and medical consultation, we confirm suitability, discuss any photosensitising medication, and set the protocol.

  2. Step 2

    Prep

Skin is cleansed, contact lenses removed if needed, and protective eyewear provided. LED itself is a completely relaxing 20 minutes.

  3. Step 3

    Treatment

You lie under the Tri-Wave MD as it delivers the prescribed wavelengths at clinical irradiance. No heat, no discomfort: many clients doze off.

  4. Step 4

    Aftercare

Barrier-supporting moisturiser, SPF for daytime bookings. No downtime, you can return to normal activity immediately.

  5. Step 5

    Course Cadence

For acne, redness and pigmentation we recommend a course of 6–12 sessions twice weekly initially, then step down as skin stabilises. Recovery-add-on sessions are typically single-use.

The Detail

Everything you'd want to know before booking.

The Tri-Wave MD versus consumer LED

The Tri-Wave MD delivers blue (415nm), red (633nm) and near-infrared (830nm) light simultaneously at clinical irradiance. Dermalux describes it as roughly 200× stronger than the standard Flex system. Its approximate RRP is £21,000. Home masks and salon panels typically deliver a small fraction of this dose, which is why clinical outcomes are not comparable.

Conditions we protocol LED for

Active acne (papular and inflammatory), rosacea and chronic redness, sensitised and reactive skin, post-inflammatory pigmentation, dull and mature skin, post-procedure recovery (needling, laser, radio frequency, injectables), and general anti-inflammatory maintenance for autoimmune or medication-related skin flares (with GP consent where relevant).

How LED integrates with other treatments

We routinely finish facials, needling sessions and laser treatments with a short LED exposure to reduce inflammation and shorten downtime. Full standalone LED courses can also be built in parallel with a facial or booster plan, the compounding effect on redness and clarity across 8–12 weeks is significant.

Safety, contraindications and consent

LED is one of the safest professional skin treatments available. Contraindications include a very small number of photosensitising medications and active cold sores in the treatment area, which we screen for at consultation. Please confirm with Dermalux/brand what marketing content and imagery your treatment room is permitted to use before publishing (an internal note to the clinic, it does not affect your treatment).

How we plan dermalux led therapy at Precious Moments.

A good result is not created by the treatment name alone. It is created by the consultation, the suitability check, the order of treatments, the settings used, the aftercare followed and the consistency of the course. That is why every dermalux led therapy client starts with a conversation about medical history, previous treatments, medication, skin behaviour, lifestyle, upcoming events and the result they actually want. If another treatment would deliver the outcome more safely or more directly, we say so before you spend money.

The clinic works from 6 Eastgate in Banstead, so repeated appointments are realistic for clients travelling from Cheam, Epsom, Ewell, Sutton, Coulsdon, Kingswood, Chipstead and Tattenham. That matters because most meaningful aesthetic results are not single-visit miracles. They come from a correct sequence: the first appointment establishes the baseline, the middle appointments build the result, and the review appointment decides whether maintenance, a top-up or a different layer of treatment is the sensible next step.

Pricing is kept live on Treatwell so clients are not reading old figures on the website. Course value is built into the clinic model: buy a course of six and receive the seventh treatment free; buy eight and receive ten. Repeat-course Early Bird offers and the loyalty stamp scheme can reduce the cost further for clients who already know they want an ongoing skin, laser or body plan. A deposit is required to secure booking, and appointments can be rescheduled without charge outside the 48-hour window.

Safety is documented rather than assumed. Precious Moments is fully insured, council-registered for skin-piercing and semi-permanent make-up procedures, and uses licensed clinical-waste disposal for sharps and treatment waste. Practitioners hold NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 beauty qualifications, with additional advanced training across laser, skin needling, radio frequency, injectables, oncology massage and Dermalux LED protocols. That combination gives each appointment a clear structure: assess, treat, record, advise and review.

Suitability before sales

If dermalux led therapy is not the right route for your skin, body or timetable, we will redirect the plan rather than forcing the booking.

Local course consistency

Regular attendance is easier from a Banstead clinic with clear opening hours, WhatsApp support and a small team who remember your treatment history.

Aftercare that protects results

You leave with practical instructions on heat, exercise, actives, SPF, makeup, swimming or massage restrictions where relevant: not vague advice.

Frequently Asked

Dermalux LED Therapy in Banstead, your questions, answered.

How much does Dermalux LED cost in Banstead?

+

A 20-minute Dermalux Facial LED session is £48; the 35-minute Luxury anti-ageing LED is £52. Our full-body Tri-Wave regeneration is £69 for a 15-minute session, or £495 for the 10-session Light Lounge course. Full price list is on this page.

How is Dermalux different to a home LED mask?

+

Clinical irradiance and simultaneous multi-wavelength output. The Tri-Wave MD is a medical-grade device with an approximate RRP of £21,000 and, per Dermalux, is roughly 200× stronger than the standard Flex system. A home mask delivers a small fraction of this dose.

How many sessions will I need?

+

For acne, redness or pigmentation, 6–12 sessions delivered twice weekly initially. For anti-ageing or maintenance, monthly. For post-procedure recovery, one to three sessions in the week after treatment.

Does LED hurt?

+

No. There is no heat and no discomfort. Most clients find the 20 minutes deeply relaxing.

Is there any downtime?

+

None. Skin may look brighter and slightly flushed for an hour or two.

Is LED safe in pregnancy?

+

LED is broadly considered safe in pregnancy, but we err on the side of caution and ask for GP approval for pregnant clients before commencing a course.

Can LED help my rosacea or acne?

+

Both conditions respond well to a proper course. LED does not replace medical treatment for severe cystic acne or complex rosacea, but it is a genuinely useful protocol for the vast majority of cases we see.

Can I combine LED with other treatments?

+

Yes, it's one of the best add-ons in aesthetics. We use it routinely after needling, injectables, laser and radio frequency to accelerate comfort and results.

How do I book?

+

Treatwell for real-time availability, or call/WhatsApp 07457 404213.

What's your cancellation policy?

+

A deposit is required to book. Cancellations outside 48 hours can be rescheduled free of charge.
