The Treatment

What piercing clinic actually is: and who it's for.

What it is

A dedicated piercing service performed inside a professional clinical environment. Every piercing is placed by a trained practitioner using single-use sterile equipment appropriate to the site, with a full aftercare briefing and follow-up support.

Who it's for

First-time lobe piercings for children (with parental consent and presence), teenagers and adults; second and third lobes; cartilage, helix, tragus, conch and other ear positions; nose; belly; and more sensitive sites as appropriate.

When it's right

Any time, but ideally not immediately before a holiday, a swim event, or a period where you can't follow the healing protocol properly. We'll advise at consultation.

Why professional matters

Piercing is a skin-piercing medical procedure that is specifically regulated by local councils in England. Precious Moments is registered for skin-piercing procedures, holds full insurance, uses licensed clinical waste bins for sharps, and works with sterile single-use equipment, the exact opposite of a shopping-centre kiosk staffed by teenagers with a spring gun.

The Cost of Leaving It

What happens when it's left, or done badly.

!

Unregulated piercing, shopping-centre kiosks, mobile 'piercers' and social-media DMs, accounts for a large proportion of infected and mis-placed piercings we see clients trying to correct.

!

A badly placed cartilage or helix piercing can result in a lifelong scar, granuloma or asymmetry. Cartilage doesn't forgive.

!

Cheap 'gold-tone' jewellery and poor-quality studs cause a huge proportion of piercing rejection, migration and contact dermatitis. What goes into the fresh piercing matters as much as where the hole goes.

!

Poor aftercare, especially rotating a fresh piercing, using antiseptic disinfectants meant for open wounds, and swimming too soon, extends healing from weeks to months and dramatically increases infection risk.

The Precious Moments Method

How we deliver piercing clinic, step by step.

  1. Step 1

    Consultation & Placement

We discuss the piercing you want, review your anatomy for the best position, agree jewellery, and complete a consent form. For under-18s, parental consent and presence is mandatory.

  2. Step 2

    Preparation

The area is cleansed and marked; you approve the position in a mirror before we go any further. Nothing goes ahead until you're fully happy.

  3. Step 3

    Piercing

Placed with sterile single-use equipment appropriate to the site, cartilage and body piercings are needle-only. Placement takes seconds; comfort is prioritised throughout.

  4. Step 4

    Aftercare Briefing

Written and verbal aftercare, cleansing solution, do's and don'ts, timeframes, warning signs. We are on WhatsApp for any questions during healing.

  5. Step 5

    Follow-Up

We check in at the natural change-of-jewellery timeframe for your piercing type and are happy to review healing at any point, book a quick free check-in if you're worried.

The Detail

Everything you'd want to know before booking.

Piercings we offer

First and additional lobe piercings, upper lobe, helix, forward helix, tragus, conch, rook and daith (subject to anatomy), nostril and body piercings appropriate to the clinical environment. We do not perform oral or intimate piercings. Age policies apply and vary by site: please ask at consultation.

Regulation, hygiene and safety

Precious Moments is registered with the local council for skin-piercing procedures and for semi-permanent make-up. Every piercing tool, needle or applicator is single-use and disposed of via licensed clinical waste bins. Every treatment room follows strict clinical hygiene between clients.

Healing and jewellery changes

Healing times vary by site: lobes typically 6–8 weeks; cartilage frequently 6–12 months. First jewellery changes should be timed to the healing site, not to your holiday. We will always advise you honestly, if you want a specific piece of jewellery in by a date, we'll tell you whether that's realistic.

When we won't pierce

We will decline or postpone a piercing if you are unwell, pregnant (for certain sites), pierced too recently in the same area, or if the anatomy doesn't support the position you want. Declining a piercing is a mark of a properly-run clinic: not a marketing weakness.

How we plan piercing clinic at Precious Moments.

A good result is not created by the treatment name alone. It is created by the consultation, the suitability check, the order of treatments, the settings used, the aftercare followed and the consistency of the course. That is why every piercing clinic client starts with a conversation about medical history, previous treatments, medication, skin behaviour, lifestyle, upcoming events and the result they actually want. If another treatment would deliver the outcome more safely or more directly, we say so before you spend money.

The clinic works from 6 Eastgate in Banstead, so repeated appointments are realistic for clients travelling from Cheam, Epsom, Ewell, Sutton, Coulsdon, Kingswood, Chipstead and Tattenham. That matters because most meaningful aesthetic results are not single-visit miracles. They come from a correct sequence: the first appointment establishes the baseline, the middle appointments build the result, and the review appointment decides whether maintenance, a top-up or a different layer of treatment is the sensible next step.

Pricing is kept live on Treatwell so clients are not reading old figures on the website. Course value is built into the clinic model: buy a course of six and receive the seventh treatment free; buy eight and receive ten. Repeat-course Early Bird offers and the loyalty stamp scheme can reduce the cost further for clients who already know they want an ongoing skin, laser or body plan. A deposit is required to secure booking, and appointments can be rescheduled without charge outside the 48-hour window.

Safety is documented rather than assumed. Precious Moments is fully insured, council-registered for skin-piercing and semi-permanent make-up procedures, and uses licensed clinical-waste disposal for sharps and treatment waste. Practitioners hold NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 beauty qualifications, with additional advanced training across laser, skin needling, radio frequency, injectables, oncology massage and Dermalux LED protocols. That combination gives each appointment a clear structure: assess, treat, record, advise and review.

Suitability before sales

If piercing clinic is not the right route for your skin, body or timetable, we will redirect the plan rather than forcing the booking.

Local course consistency

Regular attendance is easier from a Banstead clinic with clear opening hours, WhatsApp support and a small team who remember your treatment history.

Aftercare that protects results

You leave with practical instructions on heat, exercise, actives, SPF, makeup, swimming or massage restrictions where relevant: not vague advice.

Frequently Asked

Piercing Clinic in Banstead, your questions, answered.

How much does piercing cost in Banstead?

+

Ear lobe piercing starts at £35 single or £49 for a pair. Cartilage piercings (helix, tragus, conch, daith, rook) range £48-£55. Nostril is £49, eyebrow £50, navel £55, and nipple £50 single or £70 for a pair. Jewellery is included; full price list is on this page.

Are you regulated to pierce?

+

Yes. Precious Moments is registered with the local council for skin-piercing procedures. We hold full public liability insurance and use single-use sterile equipment.

Do you pierce children?

+

First and second lobes for children are offered with parental consent and parental presence in the room. Cartilage and body-piercing age policies apply: please ask at consultation.

How long do piercings take to heal?

+

Lobes typically 6–8 weeks; cartilage frequently 6–12 months. Aftercare compliance is the biggest factor.

Do you use a piercing gun?

+

For lobes we use appropriate professional equipment. Cartilage and body piercings are needle-only, cartilage should not be pierced with a spring gun.

Can I swim after a piercing?

+

No, we recommend avoiding swimming pools, hot tubs, sea water and shared baths for the initial healing window. We'll give you specific timeframes at your appointment.

What if my piercing gets infected?

+

Contact us on WhatsApp with a photograph. Many 'infected' piercings are actually irritated by poor jewellery, over-cleaning or physical trauma, we'll help you triage before you seek medical care.

What jewellery do you use for a fresh piercing?

+

Appropriate materials, gauges and lengths for a healing piercing: not costume jewellery. We'll show and explain the piece at your appointment.

How do I book?

+

Treatwell for live availability. For children's first piercings please call or WhatsApp 07457 404213 first so we can talk through consent and timing.

What's your cancellation policy?

+

A deposit is required to book. Cancellations outside 48 hours can be rescheduled free of charge.
